“Believe the Works!” (Matt 12:28-32)

SERMON TRANSCRIPT

October 11, 2026

All right. Go ahead and turn your Bibles over to Matt 12, and we’re going to beseech the Lord.

Father, I come to You right now in the name of Jesus. Please be with us. Please be with this service. Father, we need You to open our eyes to see the beauty of what it means to trust You and Your supernatural hand at work. I pray that You would open our eyes so that we can see and believe those things that we cannot see. I pray that You would give us strength to be a light in a world that is very dim and dark. I pray that this service today, that You would awaken us, that You would quicken us and deepen our faith in You.

Father, I need You. I know the enemy has worked overtime against the people in this church that are here today. I pray that You would please fill us up with supernatural strength to receive from You the word that You have. And I pray that You would override my mind and my heart and give this people You and not me. Give them what I cannot. May You be their pastor and their preacher today. And I pray that they would receive You and this word. Father, please speak through me and protect us from that wretched devil. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

All right. I know this is in reverse. Please stand with me as we read this word from God. Reading from the ESV here, Matt 12:28–32:

But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house. Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

This is the word of the Lord. You may be seated.

This is a jarring text. No doubt. There is, according to Jesus, a sin that you could commit that you will never be forgiven of. This kind of flies in the face of everything we’ve been taught. “What do You mean, Jesus? There is a sin that I can commit that I cannot be forgiven of?” Well, that’s blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. And not only is that difficult, but why in the world is Jesus not worthy of the same level of severity as the Spirit is? Why can we lob a blasphemous word against Jesus and be forgiven of it, but not lob a blasphemous statement against the Holy Spirit and not be forgiven of it?

These questions challenge so much of what we believe to be biblical Christianity that this text has led scores and scores of books and commentaries to be written on it. I’m one of those pastors that when I make a sermon, if it is a text that challenges me and I’m not sure what it says, I do not just take the commentaries at their word. I will go in the kitchen and study how to cook this meal till I turn blue in the face before I bring it to you. It took that kind of study this week. This is one of the most difficult texts to study and understand in all the Bible because we are dealing with a sin that is unforgivable.

This is the kind of word that should never be uttered lightly. This is the kind of word that can cause people to lose sleep at night and live with anxiety. And some of you might be asking yourselves now, “Have I committed the unforgivable sin?”

Well, let’s get into it. So, today’s context is we’re coming on the heels of Jesus now being challenged in new ways by the Pharisees and the Sadducees, the religious elite, the who’s who and what’s what of first-century Palestine. These people are challenging Jesus. And we saw in Matthew 11:19 that Jesus is even citing them. He quotes them as saying and lobbing against Jesus that He is a man who is a drunkard and a glutton. That’s quite the insult. But that kind of insult, Jesus says, can be forgiven.

What’s interesting is Jesus is stating what they lob against Him. And why would they be saying this against Jesus? It is because these Pharisees are on top of the world. They own and monopolize access to God. If you want to access God as a Jew in first-century Israel, you have to go through the Pharisees. And Jesus is flipping that on its head. He is challenging the system from the ground up. He is a threat to their throne of power.

So what are they going to do with Him? Well, we know they ultimately kill Him. They have to if they’re going to maintain power. But there is an ulterior motive for their actions. They do not just want to get rid of Jesus because He threatens their power. They want to get rid of Jesus because He threatens their father’s power. And their father is Satan.

Jesus is entering the world. He’s not just resetting the way the Jewish people draw near to God. Jesus entered creation to reset how all of humanity draws near to God. The main point of today’s sermon is that we must believe that the Holy Spirit is empowering Jesus to overthrow Satan’s dominion. Your salvation requires that you believe that Jesus isn’t just proclaiming a truth from God. Your salvation requires that you believe that the Holy Spirit was within Him and acting as proof, divine evidence that who Jesus said He was is true. In other words, you have to believe not just the word, but the miracles that backed it up. That’s the main point.

Now, these Pharisees are trying to overthrow Jesus, as I said, because He is a threat to their father’s power, and Jesus has to overthrow their father.

The World Is Under the Sway of Satan

And that is because, as our first point, the world is under the sway of Satan. The world is under the sway of Satan. The word sway comes from a verse, 1 John 5:19, quite literally, “the whole world is under the sway of the evil one.”

In our text in verse 28, it says that Jesus has entered the scene because the kingdom of God through Jesus, acting on the power of the Holy Spirit, is bringing the kingdom of God into the world. When Jesus says “the kingdom of God has come upon you,” that quite literally means that the kingdom of God was not upon you before this. Well, if it’s not the kingdom of God that was upon you, whose kingdom was it? It was Satan’s.

Now, how did Satan get control of this world? Well, that’s thanks to us. In Gen 3, we see that man decided that they were not satisfied with having God as their king in the luscious garden of Eden. They had everything they could ever want. Not just possessions and nourishment and provision and shelter, but they had the thing that humanity craves the most, and that is presence and nearness to God. They revoked that. They repelled it and rejected it because they would rather be their own god. Just like our favorite idol in America is self-autonomy, so was Eve’s. She didn’t want to just be with God. She didn’t want to just be like God. She wanted to be God. And that’s why she fell into the enemy’s temptation of eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil so that she could be God of her own life.

But here’s the problem. God created man and woman in the garden in God’s image. From the very fabric of our DNA, we are called to be representatives of God’s presence on earth. Theologians call this vice-regency. Vice-regency is you having the authority to act as a regent, a king here on earth or a queen. And we are called to be vice-regents on earth. But when we decided to obey Satan and partake of the forbidden tree, we handed over that vice-regency. And since then, the entire world has been under the sway of the evil one because the one who held the keys of death was Satan. But according to Heb 2:14, Jesus revoked those keys and took them from him when He defeated death on the cross.

But at this point in the narrative, Satan is in control of the world and he’s in control of all the sons of disobedience (Eph 2:2). Second Corinthians 4:4 is very clear that Satan is blinding the minds of every unbeliever everywhere. That’s why in Luke 16, Jesus tells them that even if someone was raised from the dead, if they don’t already believe the Old Testament, not even a resurrected man will make them believe (v 31). It is because we are all under some supernatural, dark, and sinister hypnosis in our minds. The enemy blinds us from seeing the truth. The prince of the power of the air, according to Eph 2:2, is the ruler of this world.

But not only that, and this is one that everybody must remember, and that is John 8:44. I quote this so often. The first time I read it, I never thought I would quote it so often, but I have over the last 15 years. Jesus is looking at the leaders who are opposing Him in John 8, and He says to them point-blank:

You are of your father the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies. (v. 44, CSB)

Children, that’s why we don’t lie. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature because he is a liar and the father of lies.

Now, John 8:44 is making it very clear. You can claim to know God. You can walk with God. You can have all the right vocabulary. You can come to church every single Sunday and you could still be working for Lucifer. And it is because every single one of us in this room is a slave to something. Freedom and self-autonomy is an illusion. There is no such thing. Everybody is a slave either to sin or righteousness (Rom 6).

So if your will is not to do the will of your heavenly Father, your will is to follow your satanic father. There is no middle ground. You are a pawn in someone’s agenda. Which agenda do you belong to?

Now Jesus steps on the scene and He’s saying, “I’m here to bring the kingdom of God.” He is overthrowing Satan from the ground up. It has been in his power to control creation for thousands of years through the hearts of fallen men. And Jesus is standing on the scene like a strong warrior, sword in hand and a sword for a tongue, and He’s saying, “You are done. And I am here to rescue everyone that is a part of your kingdom who would turn and believe in Me.”

Jesus Is Replacing the Kingdom of Satan with the Kingdom of God

Therefore, the next point is: Jesus is replacing the kingdom of Satan with the kingdom of God. Verses 28–29 (Matt 12:28–29), “If I drive out Satan by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” Why is He talking about driving out demons? It is because we didn’t preach this verse since we have already preached a verse on exorcism in this series. But you must know that this story really begins in verse 22.

You see in verse 14 after Jesus healed a man with a shriveled hand, they were done with Jesus. Enough of this guy. He is trying to take away our authority and our power. They are dead set on killing Him. So in verse 15, He withdraws Himself from the area where there is obvious contention and threats to His life.

So He leaves. But these people, just like they weren’t satisfied with letting Him leave on the Sabbath and followed Him into the wheat field, now follow Him though He is trying to leave the controversy. They are dead set on catching Him so they can kill Him. So He heals a man with a shriveled hand; they want to kill Him for it. And now He is about to heal a man who is possessed by a demon—he cannot see, he is unable to speak.

But there is something else that you must know that is shifting in the narrative here. Jesus had been winning the crowds—not the religious elite, not the Pharisees, but the crowds. But you see in verse 23, there is a shift in the crowds. The CSB says that the crowds, after they see Him heal this demon-possessed man, say, “Could this be the Son of David?” But what you must understand in the Greek text, when you ask a question that demands a yes or a no, you can use two words that we do not translate usually in English. And depending on which of those two words is used, it tells you the answer they expect to the question.

We kind of do this in English. If I’m expecting a positive answer, I would say, “This is the Son of David, isn’t it?” Clearly my question expects a yes. But if I say, “This isn’t the Son of David, is it?” clearly I’m expecting a no. When they ask that in verse 23, they are expecting a no. They have just witnessed Jesus expel a demon out of a man, and the doubt in the crowd is still prevalent. They want to say that this is the descendant of David, the long-awaited Messiah. They want to believe it, but they can’t. They see in their hearts that this isn’t the Son of David. Two things are clashing in their minds: the evidence and their doubt. So, it’s not just the Pharisees; the doubt is mounting in the crowds.

So what is absolutely paramount and pivotal for you to understand: what does it mean for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit? What is that and why is it unforgivable? You must understand how we have arrived at this point, how things are evolving in the opposition to Jesus. How did it start? It started merely by trying to tarnish who this man was. They said He was a drunkard and a glutton (Matt 11:19). In Mark 3, you see that His own family members think He’s out of His mind. These things Jesus says, “You can say about Me. That’s fine.” Because as He says in Matt 11:19, “Wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

Now, if you were here for that sermon, that meant that you can say all you want about Jesus because even if you tarnish His reputation, all you have to do is look at that man’s fruit. Just here recently, I experienced something where all of these accusations were being lobbed against me, and I just asked that person, “Have you considered the amount of love that I have shown you? It is clear that everything you think about me is not true, just based on the fruit.”—“Wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.” You don’t have to defend yourself. Let your deeds do the work.

“My reputation is guarded by My deeds. Whether you believe in Me, all you got to do is look at those.” So that’s a problem for the Pharisees. The problem that the Pharisees have is no matter what they say against this man, He still has good fruit. And the people will continue to believe in Him if He continues with the good fruit. So what do we do with the fruit? Because we need people to run from Jesus. They are looking to scatter. Which is why Jesus says in our text, “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” (Matt 12:30)

This is the game the Pharisees are playing. They want people to run from Jesus. But the fruit is a problem. What is the best way to discredit fruit for a first-century Jew? All you have to do is tell them that the fruit comes from Satan. If you can convince them that the fruit that you’re actually seeing—all these miracles, the healing of the blind, the healing of the mute, the healing of the deaf, the healing of the demoniac—if I can convince the people that all of that happened because Satan empowered this man to do it, then they won’t even look at the fruit. We’ll slander His character and call Him a drunkard and a glutton. And then we’ll tell them all the miracles this drunkard and glutton has performed were performed by the mighty hand of Satan.

According to Jewish culture, this would be sorcery, which is a capital crime deserving stoning by death (Lev 20:27), which is what they’re after anyway. It would delight them more than anything to see a rock lodged behind the eyes of Jesus, and they might just get it done if they can convince people that Jesus is in collaboration with Satan. That is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is that they are trying to discredit the evidence that Jesus is God’s Messiah. The Holy Spirit is the One who has been on Jesus from the get-go. In Matthew at the beginning, Jesus comes down to the Jordan River in chapter 3 and He gets into the river, and the Holy Spirit descends on Jesus like a dove. The sky cracks open and the Father says from the skies, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” (Matt 3:17; cf. Matt 17:5) And right after, the Holy Spirit, while resting on and empowering Jesus, drives Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan (Matt 4:1).

Why? Because Jesus has to fulfill all of humanity. And He has to be a great High Priest that withstands the same temptations as us so that He could be a good High Priest and sympathize with us in all our struggles. That’s why we love Jesus. He’s gone through everything we’ve ever gone through. That’s why we can trust Him, right? We can trust Jesus as our great High Priest and our Messiah because He has gone through everything we have gone through.

What caused Him to go through the temptations that we go through? The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness. But not just that, the Holy Spirit is on Jesus because He goes into the temple and quotes Isa 61, where He says, “The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor” (Isa 61:1; cf. Luke 4:18). Jesus is preaching and He’s performing miracles by the power of God’s Holy Spirit.

So, here’s the thing. Jesus is doing two things. He’s giving them a message, but He’s also giving them the evidence that His message is true.

Salvation Requires Submission to God’s Message and Evidence

That’s why the next point is: salvation requires submission to God’s message and evidence.

You see, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit was when they decided to take the credit that belongs to the Holy Spirit and give it to Satan when they said that Jesus is casting out demons by Beelzebul, which by the way is a Canaanite title for the false god Baal. Beelzebul is just another way of saying he is the one that has complete control over all the demons. And this is what the first-century Jews did believe. And not just the first-century Jews. If you read the intertestamental period between the Old and New Testaments, all the ancient Jewish writings like to talk about how people would perform these signs and wonders because they were being inspired by those who have powers from powerful spirits. So when the Pharisees lodged this lie and slanderous claim against Jesus, they were doing what their culture would have clearly believed. These are some conniving individuals.

They’re master manipulators. People who are hungry for power are master manipulators. Especially those who are already in power.

They have tried to discredit the message that we must believe in salvation by discrediting Jesus. But now they are discrediting the evidence that the message is true. What is the evidence? The evidence that Jesus is preaching the true message is His exorcisms, His healings, and all the other good deeds that He does—the things that He’s doing by the Holy Spirit. So, here’s what you need to know.

You can declare, “I don’t know if I believe in the message of Jesus because I just don’t know Jesus.” But what if God does an incredible miracle in front of you after preaching the gospel? Now you have heard His message, but you have also seen the evidence that what I’m saying is true. Because if I can say, “Jesus is Lord, repent and believe so that you will be saved,” and then I pray for you and your leg no longer hurts as it has hurt, that is God’s way of putting a stamp of approval on everything I have just said, right? In other words, you have nowhere else to go. If you are rejecting what I have just done by the power of the Holy Spirit, you are rejecting the message of salvation despite incontrovertible evidence.

In other words, giving credit for the Spirit’s work to Satan is next-level rejection of Jesus. It’s the kind of rejection where you actually know in your heart, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that what has just happened before you is clearly God, and yet you still say, “I choose not to believe.” This is a degree of hard-heartedness that puts you in a place beyond the path of forgiveness. This is a place where you have actually had everything you needed to believe, and in your heart you even knew it to be true, and you still walked away.

So here’s the answer to the question: Have I committed this crime, this unforgivable sin? Good news: if you love Jesus today, you have not put yourself beyond the path of forgiveness. The kind of people that Jesus has in mind here are the people who curse God until the very end of their last dying breath. Because no matter how good the message is and no matter how good the divine evidence is, they still choose to not believe.

But you and I will never know if somebody has crossed that Rubicon. It is not our job to decide whether somebody has committed this unforgivable sin. That is only between them and God. That means that you can fight with all your vigor in your prayer closet and every time you see that lost family member, still plead and beg them to come to Jesus. And it’s still okay for you to continue to pray that God would give them divine evidence through miracles, maybe through dreams, through something that they cannot put into words, that the message of Jesus is true. I do this all the time. I will tell people after I share the gospel, “I’m telling you, you didn’t meet me by coincidence. And there is going to come a time where you’re going to remember this conversation because something is going to happen to you and you’re going to remember these words. And when that happens, you just remember that that happened because Jesus is true.”

There are so many Christians that are so in their head. I used to be one of them. Maybe I still am. I know some of y’all are looking at me funny. But they used to be so in their head and top-heavy that if anything reeks of a miracle, they’ll say that’s satanic. Some Christians are so opposed to supernatural mysteries of God that they just laugh and mock it. And they laugh and mock at Christians who believe these things.

This is a warning for you because you might just actually be witnessing a miracle of God, and if you attribute it to Satan, you would be committing blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. So be careful. Do not mock your brothers that believe in miracles. Do not mock those who still practice gifts of the Spirit that you may not accept or think are practiced today. Don’t mock them. If you disagree with them, pray with them. Pray for them. Show them love. But don’t sit on a presumptuous throne by saying that they’re practicing satanic or demonic things.

In fact, a good case study is 1 Cor 14. Paul is saying that in the church at Corinth, they’re practicing the gift of tongues in an ungodly way. And they’re actually tearing down the house of God, so to speak, because if an unbeliever walks in while they’re all babbling like babies, they’re going to say, “You people are out of your mind.” And so Paul encourages them, “Look, if you’re going to speak in tongues, make sure there is an interpreter there and only let there be two or three people doing it at once. Let there be order because God is a God of order” (see verses 26-33).

Now, I know some people who, if they see a church babbling like a bunch of babies, would not hesitate saying that a spirit of darkness is over this place. But Paul would say they’re actually participating in the gifts of the Spirit; they’re just doing it in an ungodly way. So we must be very careful of how quick we are to judge our brothers that believe in supernatural miracles of God.

All right. So the goal of the Pharisees was to convince people that the evidence of Jesus’s message was false. So in order to do that, they say that the evidence—what they thought was evidence—actually belongs to Satan. Now Jesus trips them up on their logic. He’s like, “How can a house divided against itself stand? It can’t. If the kingdom that’s inside of a moat and high castle walls decides to take their cannons, roll them back from the murder holes, and then point the cannons at each other, how long is that castle going to withstand itself?” Not very long. Jesus is saying, “That’s how idiotic your claim that I’m casting out demons by Satan is, because Satan would be fighting himself.” And we all know that fallen angel is so power-hungry, he would never fight himself.

So, He shows their illogic. But not only that, and this is the part that I absolutely love because this is going to give you so much comfort and peace: some of you as Christians are wondering, “Can I be possessed?” And I’m here to tell you, according to this passage, you cannot. Jesus says, “Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man?” (Matt 12:29)

Jesus is saying, “I’m the One coming into Satan’s house.” He’s entering Satan’s kingdom and He’s plundering the kingdom of Satan. Who or what are the goods of Satan’s kingdom? Humanity. As unbelievers, we all belonged to the king of evil. And Jesus has stepped into Satan’s kingdom, and He has done something to Satan so that He can take you out of your imprisonment.

He bound Satan. That’s what is very clear in this text. How can a man plunder the goods of a strong man unless the strong man is first bound up? Satan is bound. If you have come to Jesus, his hands are tied behind his back. He cannot do anything to you without God’s permission. He certainly cannot harm your soul and he cannot possess you.

Your body has room for one Spirit, and it either belongs to Satan or it belongs to God. And once Satan is cast out of you as a controller of your life, God is in control and God alone. Amen to that.

So if you’re saying, “I’m addicted to things,” I’m here to tell you that you are not relying on the power of God’s Spirit. Either this is not true, I have misinterpreted it, or you’re not a believer. One, this is not a difficult passage to interpret, so I don’t think it’s a misinterpretation. Two, I do believe this is true. If you are a believer, you have no reason to be addicted to anything, and God can give you strength to be free from it.

So salvation requires submission to God’s message and the evidence. Jesus is saying you must recognize that God’s power is within Me. But they have evolved their efforts to slander Jesus to the point where they now reject the miracles given by God’s Spirit. And that is the blasphemy. And it is unforgivable because they have hardened their hearts so much that they refuse to be forgiven.

If you continue on in this passage, Jesus is going to come back to a tree and its fruit. He says, “For the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart.” (v 34) Jesus is saying you have just blasphemed the Holy Spirit because you are evil. So this is not a group of believers who are switching to the other side. This is a group of unbelievers revealing what side they already belong to.

God Expects Us to Partner with Him in This Gathering

That’s why the second-to-last point is: God expects us to partner with Him in the gathering. Jesus makes very clear: “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” (v 30) You are either for Him or against Him. There’s no in-between with Jesus. You either embrace Him as your Savior and you work for His mission of gathering kingdom citizens, or you’re encouraging them to run away. And everybody is playing a role in that.

What role are you playing? Are you encouraging people to run to Jesus or are you encouraging people to flee from Jesus? And you don’t have to tell them with your words to run from Jesus. Your actions will do that, too. How you treat people, even how you drive a car, will encourage people to either run to the God you claim hold of or run from Him. We must keep that in mind.

But here’s the other thing that I want you to really hold on to. When Jesus invites us to partner with Him in bringing people into His kingdom, He gives us the same Holy Spirit that empowered Him. In John 14:12, He says, “Truly I tell you, the one who believes in Me will also do the works that I do.”

I’m telling you, if you have not experienced the miraculous power of God in your life, it’s because you’re not accessing it. It is there. I have seen it. I’ve experienced it. And when I encourage other people to do it, they experience it, too. For example, my wife and I were praying one night, and sometimes I’ll get these intuitions I believe are from the Spirit and I’ll just follow through. And then sure enough, it turns out, oh, that was of God. And we’re praying and I said, “Stephanie, I just want to sit here and we’re going to be quiet and we’re going to see if the Spirit speaks to you about something that we were praying about.” Well, she comes out of that time of prayer, of silence, and she says, “I’m supposed to call my mom.” But we weren’t even talking about her mom. We call her mom, she answers the phone in tears, and something was wrong. The Spirit spoke to her, and all Stephanie needed was the invitation to just wait on the Spirit. If you’re a believer, you have the same Spirit that is in Jesus, and He is in you.

You have the ability for that. So I just want to challenge you. Say, “God, use me in supernatural ways. Fill my mouth with supernatural words to proclaim the gospel, but also give me the supernatural evidence to back it up, just like You did with Jesus.” Pray bold prayers and don’t be ashamed of it. If God doesn’t show up in the way that you expect, that’s okay, too. But walk in the way of faith and trust that the Lord will show up and He will do great things. Never forget Jesus could not perform or did not perform many mighty miracles in His own hometown because of their unbelief (Matt 13:58).

Miracles are commensurate with the belief and expectancy for miracles. If Christians do not expect miracles in their life, guess what they’re going to get? No miracles.

God Expects Us to Guard Our Tongue

All right. Now, God expects us to not just partner with Him in His kingdom, but He expects us to guard our tongue. We have to be very careful of crediting to Satan what may be the Spirit of God.

Anybody ever heard of Hanlon’s razor? Hanlon’s razor is a philosophical statement that came from a joke book. And this is one I like to quote to myself: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.” In other words, don’t think people are just being mean to you when their behavior may just be coming from a place of not knowing what to do.

I think the same thing goes when you see things in people that claim to be believers. Instead of assuming that they’re under the control of the evil one, maybe just assume that they need discipleship, they need prayer, they need help. Never assume that Satan’s at work when it may just be someone needing the grace and the discipleship of Jesus.

With this, I hope that you have been encouraged to see that the main point is that we must submit not just to the message of Jesus, but we must submit and embrace the supernatural evidence that backed up Jesus’s message. The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is the pinnacle of denying Jesus. And if you get so hard-hearted as to deny the miracles of Jesus, you are putting yourself in a path that is beyond God’s path of forgiveness.

So submit to Jesus and His miracles. Embrace them both. And as a believer, partner with Him in bringing more into His kingdom. Let’s go to Him now.

Father, I thank You for Your grace and Your love. And I ask that You would please help us to submit to Your message, to be encouraged in our faith, and to embrace the supernatural side of being a Christian. I pray that we would believe the miracles of the Spirit, that we would not shun them, but that we would submit to them and submit to You.

I pray that You would help us to guard our tongues, to not be quick to discount our brothers that do things that we don’t normally do or that we may disagree with. I pray that You would help us to be humble and loving and patient.

Use us, Lord, and protect us from that devil as we work with You to overthrow his kingdom in Jesus’ name. Amen.
